My heart aches for all of you. I'm so sorry to read of the passing of Norma. What a great person she was. She always made me smile and I enjoyed her honesty and sincerity. Uncle Larry & family,
Uncle Larry and Aunt Norma have always been there for us and we are forever grateful. How precious the memories and how you all are so precious to us. Only through our faith and our Lord will we get along without her.
She planned our wedding 44 years ago. and always was there to care for our children, Aunt Norma was always there. She was with my dad everyday when he went down with a stroke, until I would get there to relieve her.
She was like a mother/sister to me, we would share everything together.
Praise God, she is with the Lord and we look forward to seeing her again!
Love and prayers for the family! Rich and Cheryl

Norma was a significant role model for me--as she was for so many others! My confidante, surrogate mother, and wonderful friend. We might go for a long time without contact, but I always knew she was there for me, in the worst of times. We also had countless fun times--at the lake, at holiday meals, and whenever our paths crossed. My sister, Carla, still fondly recalls her birthday, when Norma showed me how to make a "doll cake" for her. One of the best cooks in the country, Norma made comfort food that soothed my soul. There was always room for one more at her table--we will miss her greatly. She loved her family with great intensity--a wonderful, one-of-a-kind lady!

My heart is broken over the death of precious Norma. I have missed both you & her smiling face & spirited personality so much. I so wish I would have called her or dropped in to see her, to tell her how much she was missed & loved.
I will always remember her delicious, melt in your mouth cinnamon rolls, and how she was always willing to bake them for any special event, no matter how many were needed. There is none that were better then hers.
My prayers are with you & your family Larry as you try to comprehend why she was taken so suddenly.
Only Jesus knows, and only He can bring you rest & comfort that you need during this very hard time. Know that many, many people are lifting you up in prayer.

I loved spending time at Norma's house with the neighborhood girls. She was a mom to many of us, and treated us that way! She was never mad at us, just gave us that stern look. Then gave us kool-aid and cookies! Anytime I saw Norma she was smiling. She LOVED her family so much and was very proud of them. My love and prayers go out to all of you. Until we all meet again, we'll miss you Norma. Love, Anita Walters (Helgeson)

Larry, Michelle, Michael, Matthew,

We wish to pass along our most sincere and deepest condolences to you and your families at this sad time. Losing a loved one is never easy but this close to Christmas can make the loss even harder to deal with. Hopefully the lights, trees, and decorations will be a reminder of the true meaning of Christmas and that Norma is at peace with God. You all will be in our thoughts and prayers, not only during this tough week, but over the Christmas Holiday and the weeks and months to come.

To the Decker family. So sorry to hear of the loss of Norma. Many years ago she babysat for our son David. She was so sweet and caring and so patient with the children that she took care of. She touched many lives. Our prayers are with you.

So very sad to hear about your Moma. I always thought it would be hard to loose someone you love right at Christmas. My Moma died on 12-12-02. And she loved Christmas! The Lord actually used that to comfort me. We put twinkle lights in her casket flowers, the church was decorated, it was a real celebration for my Moma, who loved Christmas and loved the Lord. Michelle I was at your home one time at Christmas (you were playing the piano for me to sing at a funeral) ... I remember how beautifully decorated your home was. Seeing a glimpse of your life at that time, I'm guessing your family loves Christmas like we did/do! So I'm asking God, that even tho it is a very sad time
for you guys ... that He will comfort your hearts in knowing that your Moma will be spending Christmas with Jesus this year. I'm so happy I got to know her. May your whole family feel the "peace the surpasses all understanding" at this difficult time. I won't get to be with you on Fri. but you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Most Sincerely,

My deepest sympathy to you, Larry, and to your family. May your faith lesson the pain of this sudden loss and sustain you through this Christmas season and the months to come.

It was only six weeks ago when Norma and Larry surprised Gordon and I by being at the restaurant in McPherson where some cousins were meeting for coffee and pie. And in June when my family hosted the Decker family reunion Norma took the lead. She not only showed us what to do, she did most of the work. As did Larry. I will hold wonderful memories of her during this year and all the years I've known her.

I am filled with sorrow over Norma's passing. Norma was a wonderful person who will be missed by her relatives.

You are in my thoughts and prayers this week and I know God is with you and the girls and your dad. He will surround you with family and friends who love you and will care for you during this difficult time. Norma was a great lady and I know her leaving will cause a void but the wonderful lifetime of memories you have of her will fill that void over time. God will comfort you now, He promises that in His word. I love you all.
