Condolence & Memory Journal

Jim was a good person. He grew up in VC with my brother and he always treated people with kindness. I know Lisa and the rest of his family miss him in their lives. RIP Jim. Condolences to his fiance and his family.

I was so saddened to hear of Jim's passing. I ran into him 15 years ago right after moving back to Olathe. He was a fun, fun, guy...memories of Pop Choir, hanging out at the VC pool, and cheering him in wrestling. Praying for comfort that the Lord brings, peace beyond understanding.

Like others have said, it's sad to hear we've lost a classmate. I remember Jim from West Elementary School. Sometimes we road the same bus. I thought he was one of the nicest boys in our sixth grade class. I have often thought of him on his birthday because he was born on 5-5-55. My mom went to the Hensley house as a census worker. She was dreading it because she thought it would take a while to get all the children's birthdays. Mrs. Hensley knew Jim's with no hesitation and Mom thought she'd been wrong to expect a hard time. But of course the others weren't so easy to remember and they had a nice visit while they completed the census form. How swiftly the years pass! My sympathy to each sibling, friend and family member and especially his mom.

Jim Hensley wears a contagious smile in my memories from the summers of our youth. He was my brother's friend but always had a hello for little sister in church or at the pool. My sympathy to the Hensley family for your loss. God bring you comfort from family, friends and memories of happy times together.

Jim was always laughing. Quick humor. I wish it wasn't so easy to lose track of old friends. Because it's so sad to hear of ones passing. No more chances to meet up again . It is always too soon to hear of old friends passing.

Phyllis, Kris, Lori, Kimmy, Lisa and families,

Words cannot say enough how sorry we are to hear of James passing. I only met him a few times at the shop, but he was a friendly man with a sense of humor. May you all find peace in the coming days.
