Condolence & Memory Journal

well BoBo---tomorrow marks 5 years since you passed away. It is hard to believe you are gone. I think of you so much. I want to pick up the phone and give you a call or come by to see you. So much has happened in these past few years. Dad and Imogene are both gone. Colby got married to Sabrina and they are raising their beautiful grandson Alekz. He is such a joy to us all. Caleb is so grown up. He is 14 now, so tall and so darn handsome! Paige has a baby now---she is such a good mama. Sarah is getting ready to move to Gardner and go back to nursing school. So things have definitely changed. We love you so much and miss you even more! Be sure to have good times with Mom, Dad, Phil and Imogene!!! Love you BoBo!

I just wanted to let you know that I miss you more everyday. I know it has been 4 years, but I still remember it like it was yesterday. Now that Dad has passed and our stepmom has passed, I feel a deep loneliness----wish you were here so I could talk to you. I know you are at peace---and I know you, mom, dad and stepmom as well as Michael are all together. love you brother! you will never be forgotten

BoBo, i miss you alot. You would have been 75 this year. I feel your presence with me---and I know when you like what i do with my gardening arranging. Of course, you would rather i plant a vegetable garden, but that was going to be your department. I love you----miss you so much. I have so many reminders around of you.
with love always

I have tried to make this weekend as upbeat as possible. His birthday was Saturday, he would have been 74. i still have daily reminders of him---2 of his pictures that he had gotten for his birthday last year, these hang in my office at work. i look at them daily----always think of him. His spirit still is with us, when my chimes sound outside, I know he is there. I love him and miss him so much. Yes, daily reminders are all around me. love you Bo-Bo

The gentleman that shared that he thought they were shipmates---you are absolutely correct. He was on that ship, during the timeframe you are talking about! Thank you for getting in touch. It does mean alot. I remember when BoBo (Leon) got out of the navy. Always talked about the ship---over in Japan. Thank you again! Just a note, I miss him deeply!

I believe I was in the navy with and aboard the same ship. The ship was the U.S.S. Salisbury Sound AV-13. We were both signalmen. The time period was approx. 1958,1959,1960. We were both from Wichita,ks. Let me know if this is the right person.

He was my brother---whom I loved very much. Through the years we have had our good times, our bad times, then we had the great times. Having him closer to us in McPherson, was a blessing. It was a joy to visit with him so often and giggle and remember things from our childhood. Bo-Bo is what I called him. He was my one and only Bo-Bo. I love you brother, I miss you terribly, and thank you for our special times together!

I had the pleasure of knowing Leon for the past 25 years. Our love of golf and computers always kept a conversation going. In his early days, Leon was President of his Freshman class in HS and played football up until making the choice to leave during his Junior year to join the Navy. He served three years active and another three in reserves, where he continued his education and became an Engineer. It was not uncommon for him to pull out a prototype gadget, like a golf club swing coach trainer for example, that he had designed and made at one point in his long career. Being my wife's only brother, a big hole has been bored through her heart with Leon's passing. That also applies to our son, Colby, who is currently working on a career as an Engineer as well. You will be missed Leon!!
