He served on Clinton Prairie school board from 1976 to 1984, serving as president in 1980. He worked at Purdue University from 1983 to 1990 and at the University of Richmond until his retirement.

Denny was quick witted with a great sense of humor. He retired to Kansas in 2002 and served on Moline City Council for four years. He attended many McPherson College athletic events and was a big McPherson Bulldog and Purdue Boilermaker fan.

He is survived by: a son, Todd (Shannon) Davis of Atlanta, GA; a daughter, Deidre (Mark) Walker of Fredericksburg, VA; six grandchildren, Hunter and Morgan Davis; Bailee, Paityn, Landon, and Kendall Walker; two brothers, Steve (Dori) Davis of Indianapolis, IN and Brett (Jenni) Davis of Kokomo, IN; and a sister, Char Davis of Indianapolis, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
