Duane E. Logback, 82, of McPherson and formerly of Salina and Lindsborg, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2013, at The Cedars, McPherson. He was the owner and operator of Logback Heating & Cooling, was the owner of the fourth Honda Motorcycle franchise in the U.S., was a service manager for Melvin Mobile Homes, and a machinist for Anderson Machine Shop in Smolan.

He was born on March 5, 1931, in Lindsborg, Kansas, the son of Leonard A. and S. Alice (Erickson) Logback. Duane graduated from Lindsborg High School in 1948. On June 19, 1955, he was united in marriage to Jeannette May Koehn in Galva, Kansas. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving 1952 through 1954.

Survivors include: wife, Jeannette of McPherson; sons, Mike Logback and wife, Michelle, of McPherson, KS; daughters, Charlotte Garee of Plymouth, MN and Rhonda Higgins and husband, John, of Wilmington, NC; brother, Ronald Logback and wife, Nadine, of McPherson, KS and Neil Logback and wife, LuAnn, of Overland Park, KS; seven grandchildren, Chris Garee (Jena) of Maple Grove, MN, Alex Garee (Tina) of Otsego, MN, Colby Logback of Dallas, TX, Cooper Logback (Rachel) of Kansas City, MO, Shannon Beneteau (Derek) of Essex Junction, VT, Tom Higgins of Alexandria, VA, and Kate Williams (Will) of Mebane, NC; and six great-grandchildren, Mayce & Beckett Garee, Brooke & Brady Beneteau, Ben Williams, and Alice Logback.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Robert Garee.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, July 26, 2013, at Countryside Covenant Church with Rev. Tim Holgerson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Elmwood Cemetery, Lindsborg.
