Virgil L. Sandahl, 86, of Lindsborg, was called to his heavenly home on Sunday, September 29, 2013. He was a farmer and stockman.

He was born on February 7, 1927, in McPherson, KS, the son of Carl Hugo and Mabel Cecelia (Ledell) Sandahl. He received his grade school education at the Headley School in Harper Township and graduated from Marquette High School in 1944.

Virgil served on the Marquette Farmers Cooperative board, the Smoky Valley REA board and his church, Freemount Lutheran as a council member and financial secretary. Virgil was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1953 to 1955.

Survivors include his sister, Pearl Sandahl of Lindsborg, KS; and many more relatives, friends, & acquaintances.

Preceding Virgil in death were his brother, Willard (Harry); his parents, Hugo and Mabel; his grandparents, The Sandahls and The Ledells; and many aunts and uncles.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at Freemount Lutheran Church, Lindsborg with Pastors Gerald Berggren, Dick Monson, and Bill Buschbaum officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Freemount Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, October 1, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.
